AACR Award Targets Younger Ca Researchers

PHILADELPHIA-The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is sponsoring its fourth annual Gertrude Elion Cancer Research Award. This award, provided through an educational grant from Glaxo Wellcome Oncology, is open to nontenured cancer investigators in clinical, basic, or translational research in the United States and Canada.

The application deadline is February 15, 1996, and the award will be presented at the AACR annual meeting in Washington, DC, in April, 1996.

The award recipient must have completed postdoctoral studies or clinical fellowships no later than July 1, 1996, and ordinarily not more than 5 years prior to the award year. The 1-year award includes a $30,000 grant plus travel to the AACR annual meeting.
