Fall Risk Assessment and Prevention
After reading the CE-designated article in this issue of ONCOLOGY Nurse Edition, participants should be able to:
• Discuss variables that can increase the risk of patient falls in the cancer hospital setting.
• Outline key nursing interventions and safety precautions that can help to prevent falls in cancer patients.
• Understand screening tools to assess individual patient risk of falls and initiate the appropriate nursing intervention, or patient referral.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of CME LLC and The Oncology Group.
