Comment: Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) of the human breast is considered by most authorities as an indicator of pending disaster. Women with this lesion are at increased risk of developing invasive cancer. Although the risk varies from study to study, all agree that these lesions appear in women with a high risk of breast cancer. Like many types of in-situ epithelial cancers, the risk seems to be related to the grade.
