Nephroblastoma (Wilms’ tumor) is among the most common pediatric renal neoplasms. The tumor is more commonly diagnosed before 6 years of age.
Wilms’ tumor can be associated with aniridia, genitourinary anomalies, and mental retardation—WAGR syndrome.
The treatment for Wilms’ tumor appears to be surgery and chemotherapy. The prognosis for these patients is good; however, it depends largely on the staging and the histology of the tumor.
