Rapidly growing pedal lesions after third round of multi-agent treatment for Hodgkin disease.

What would be the best initial intervention in this case?

	A. Amputation of the affected great toe.
	B. Immediate excision of the lesions utilizing proton-beam radiosurgery.
	C. Application of honey three times daily.
	D. Destructive debulking followed by topical antiviral therapy.

A 20-year-old woman was receiving a multi-agent chemotherapeutic regimen for Hodgkin disease, stage IIB. After the third round of treatment, she presented for medical care because of rapidly growing pedal lesions that made walking painfully difficult.
