FEATURED SEARCH TERM: cutaneous T-cell lymphoma
There's a candidate for a new entry in the catalogue of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) types, one that goes by the name of primary cutaneous lymphoma with follicular helper T-cell (TFH) phenotype. French dermatologists discuss their experience with multiple cases of this type of CTCL, which they describe as having a “peculiar pathologic aspect.” More importantly, this newcomer disease has proven particularly resistant to standard treatment.

There are plenty of treatment options for CTCL, but obtaining a durable therapeutic response is tough. Pralatrexate (Folotyn), a novel synthetic antifolate, may finally be a solution in a disease that is plagued by poor prognosis. Two recent papers took a look at pralatrexate's role in relapse or refractory disease: One multi-institutional group of hematologists set out to find an active, well-tolerated dose for pralatrexate while another offered a comprehensive review of the drug's efficacy in peripheral T-cell lymphoma.
