Breast Cancer Info Now on Internet

January 1, 1996

NEW YORK--Women seeking information about breast cancer can now turn to their computers. The National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO) has established the first nonprofit organization breast cancer web site (http://www.nabco.org) to provide In-ternet users with up-to-date information about the latest research, current treatment options, support services, and links to other Internet sites.

The NABCO web site, initially supported through an educational grant from Rhône-Poulenc Rorer Oncology, has 10 separate areas within its own Home Page and links to other breast health-related sites.

Some of the areas that users of NABCO's Home Page will be able to access include What's New, updated weekly; NABCO's latest fact sheets; articles from NABCO News; legislative action notices; NABCO's events calendar; nationwide support groups; surveys about current issues; NABCO resources; e-mail to NABCO's information specialists who answer questions about breast cancer; and information about how to join NABCO.

NABCO's debut on the Internet is part of an overall effort to expand the organization's information and education programs. For more information about NABCO services, call 800-719-9154.
