Lung cancer is the most commoncause of cancer-relatedmortality in the United Statesand worldwide. In the UnitedStates, lung cancer was responsiblefor an estimated 160,440 deaths in2004. This surpassed the combinedmortality resulting from colorectal,breast, and prostate cancer.
