Thanks to a $250 million grant from The Parker Foundation, the cancer Moonshot initiative just got a boost to help create the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
The Parker Institute includes six cancer centers: University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Stanford Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the University of Pennsylvania, and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The goal of this program is to accelerate the development of immunotherapies with the help of approximately 300 researchers in over 40 laboratories. Each of the designated centers will receive initial funding and will continue to grow from various other grants over time.
