Role of Surgery in Mesothelioma

This video reviews the role of surgery in the management of patients with mesothelioma.

In this video, Joseph S. Friedberg, MD, of the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, discusses the role of surgery in patients with mesothelioma and highlights a study that examined lung-sparing surgery plus intraoperative photodynamic therapy in patients with advanced-stage epithelial mesothelioma.

Friedberg gave a presentation on this topic earlier this year at the 2017 Multidisciplinary Thoracic Cancers Symposium.
