Merck to donate 3 million doses of Gardasil to poor countries

NEW YORK—Merck & Co. has committed to donate at least 3 million doses of it human papillomavirus vaccine Gardasil over the next 5 years for use in demonstration projects in lowest income nations throughout the world. The company made the announcement at the Clinton Global Initiative 2007 meeting. "We are committing to the vaccination of 1 million females against cervical cancer," said Merck's Margaret McGlynn.
