According to the National Cancer Institute, an estimated 40% of people living today will develop cancer in their lifetime. In order to help provide cancer patients and their families with easy, affordable access to the information needed to make informed decisions and manage the challenges of living with cancer, Life Care Concepts, Inc, unveiled its plans for a new comprehensive multimedia library that will include videos, printed material, and on-line resources. The library will serve as a comprehensive multimedia source of cancer-related disease management and psychosocial information for the public and health care professionals. Information will be compiled in three series: (1) Getting Started, (2) Disease Management, and (3) Life Management.

The first series (Getting Started) is available now and includes the videotape, "You’ve Just Been Told You Have Cancer," a workbook (with video highlights), personal journal, and the CancerResources Guide--a comprehensive listing of major cancer-related services and organizations throughout the United States. Patients and their families can obtain a copy by calling1-(800)-401-2233 or through their health care or support professional. Information on the video as well as the Cancer Resources Guide is available on-line through Life Care Concepts’ web site at www.cancerresources.com.
