Planned Radiation in Axillary Management of Breast Cancer

In this video, Henry Kuerer, MD, PhD, of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, discusses how planned radiation will impact management of the axilla in breast cancer patients undergoing mastectomy.

Kuerer spoke on this topic at the 2017 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, held last month in Chicago, and here highlights ongoing trials in this setting as well as a new ASCO Education Book on this topic, “Optimizing Breast Cancer Adjuvant Radiation and Integration of Breast and Reconstructive Surgery.”
