The 2026 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress, featured several updates across melanoma and cutaneous oncology that may shape how clinicians time immunotherapy around surgery and approach uveal melanoma, a disease that has historically had limited treatment options. Three-year data from the phase 3 NADINA trial (NCT04949113) reinforced the role of neoadjuvant immunotherapy in resectable stage III melanoma, while 2 phase 2 studies evaluated the protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor darovasertib in both the metastatic and neoadjuvant uveal melanoma settings. In cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC), long-term results from the phase 3 C-POST (NCT03969004) and KEYNOTE-630 (NCT03833167) trials offered contrasting pictures of adjuvant PD-1 inhibition following surgery and radiotherapy. Here are 5 readouts from the meeting that you may have missed.1-5
