In this closing segment, Elizabeth Bohannon reflects on what continues to give her hope while living with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma. She points to ongoing research and the development of new therapies as important sources of hope, while reflecting on how far her own journey has progressed since her diagnosis in 2021. Elizabeth emphasizes that, despite difficult periods during treatment, she has been able to live well and maintain a meaningful quality of life. She encourages patients to remain active participants in their care by communicating who they are, what matters to them, and what they need from their healthcare team. She also emphasizes that patients can ask questions, advocate for themselves, and make treatment decisions that align with their individual goals and priorities. Samantha Shenoy, NP, closes the program by thanking Elizabeth and Isabel Curtin, LCSW, for sharing their perspectives and highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary care, supportive resources, and patient advocacy throughout the relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma journey.
